Our annual Women's Voices Dinner making a difference - covered the issue of homelessness especially in older women in our region.
Our primary guest speaker Capt. Natalie Frame covered many relevant and applicable topics.
Our panel of speakers from a variety of charities dealing directly with this issue proved very informative and inspirational for all who attended.
A highly successful raffle raised valuable funds for our annual Maris King Bursary 2024. Details on how to apply will be available soon.
PJs for Children in Care

When SI Gold Coast asked for help to provide pyjamas for children in foster care, SI Bayside answered the call by donating 68 sets of warm winter PJs.

Walk the Talk
(May 2023)
SI Bayside Members joined with Zonta and members of the Redland City Coucnil and other groups to walk through Cleveland on May 4 showing a united front against domestic violence. This was then followed by the annual Candle Light Vigil in Raby Bay Park.
The Bayside Soroptomists will once again be joining Redland City Council and other organisations to hold a candle light vigil in the Raby Bay Park area on May 6th to unite against Domestic Violence.
Delivering Hope for Children
SI Bayside Inc made a delivery of toys, games, books and puzzles to help the families at Maybanke who have escaped from violent homes. All these items were donated by SI Bayside members. The staff were delighted and so glad to get them in time to distribute before Easter.
Loads of Love and Kindness
SI Bayside Inc delivered a car-load of kindness in the form of care-packs for women in crisis at the Redlands Hospital.
When women arrive at the hospital without the basics for self-care and a dignified stay, we hope our donations make a difference.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY BREAKFAST

SI Bayside Inc is proud to support these wonderful women in completing their tertiary studies.
We are confident they will use their education to make a valuable contribution to their community.

Formally Ever After
All members were blown away by Tammy's commitment to suppling formal outfits to those young people who can't afford one. Run on a total volunteer basis - with no money exchanging hands - this inspiration woman organises donations of formal outfits and then re-gifts them on to those in need.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIPS
One of the joys of Soroptimism is the worldwide network of like-minded women who celebrate friendships, new and old. With more than 75,000 members in over 122 countries, there are many opportunities to connect with others. During February 2020, SI Bayside members welcomed Angela and her family from the UK.

Redlands Coast Unites Against Gender Based Violence

Soroptimist International Bayside Inc and Zonta Club of Wynnum Redland Inc
joined together to lead the community in a march to highlight issues related to gender-based violence. The walk was followed by songs of courage,
poetry and survival stories.

Qld Young Achiever Awards
(May 2019)
The Soroptimist International clubs of South Queensland sponsored the "Women Empowering Others" award, which was won by Madina Mamood.
Madina was also awarded the overall young achiever of the year award.

International Women's Day Breakfast (March 2019)
Sarah Corbett's presentation on the charity Rosies, Friends on the Street, provided plenty of food for thought, as local high school students and the general public discussed issues of gender equality in our modern world.
